Meeting with Roger Stankovic

Meeting with Roger Stankovic, Director of MUFON Australia / New Zealand, 28 May 2021.

I met Roger Stankovic at his house on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Roger is a friendly and intelligent man, graduated from Sydney University in 2006 with a PhD in neuroscience. He worked in the neuropathology laboratory at the University of Sydney for 15 years where he was the chief hospital scientist in charge of managing the lab. He was also involved in several reserch projects with other neuroscientists at various universities around Australia. 

At the age of fourteen, he experienced a sighting of a UFO in the region of Western Sydney, in the paddocks of his parents’ property. This had piqued his interest in UFO’s and Roger continues to have a strong interest in the UFO phenomenon.

Roger began first researching the UFO phenomenon in 1988 and was one of the first Australian civilians to have made and official inquiry about the Roswell incident and the provenance of the MJ 12 documents with Public Relations at Wright Patterson AFB. 

In 2015, Roger became Director of MUFON for Australia New Zealand; the largest UFO organisation in Australia. He started the MUFON Facebook page, which has 6,000 followers. MUFON has over 1,000 reports of civilian sightings of UFOs in Australia New Zealand. Every year, Roger receives about 110 reports for Australia, and approximately 40 for New Zealand. 

Roger has increased the number of field investigators for MUFON, had several interviews with the media including ABC, and recorded many podcasts on the topic. His objective is to develop the profile and reputation of the organisation to the general public.
